Our OCR Technology
PDF Agile's OCR engine uses a multi-stage pipeline:
- Region classification: The engine first classifies each page region as paragraph text, table, handwriting, header, or image.
- Specialized recognition: Each region type is routed to the appropriate specialized recognition engine — a standard OCR engine for printed text, a handwriting recognition engine for cursive, and table structure reconstruction for tabular data.
- Layout reconstruction: The recognized content is reassembled into the output format (Word, Excel, searchable PDF) preserving the spatial relationships of the original document.
All processing runs locally on your CPU/GPU. No file is transmitted to any external server at any stage.
